EPL – Premier League News:
Wesley Sneijder has been linked to a move to the English Premier League ever since he rose to stardom. His outstanding performances in Europe, Spain and Italy turned the English clubs towards him and he was one of the most wanted football stars back in 2009.
His immaculate performances and his ultimate class took made him a contender for the Ballon D’or. He was also the prime reason behind the remarkable World Cup 2010 for the Dutch National Team, where he was the star of the tournament. His game and his flair attracted a host of clubs from England, while every other big club was also eager for his coveted signature.
Manchester United were always linked to the Dutch star. It seemed like only a matter of time when he would make the switch to Old Trafford, back in the Ferguson era, but things never panned out and the move never went through. Despite all his offerings and all the interested from Manchester United, the most talked about Transfer Rumor remained a rumor.
Since then, Sneijder has moved on to Turkey and plays for the Turkish Champions Galatasaray. He has not been able to shine in Europe through Galatasaray, and although he remains the crucial link to the team, he might be willing to move on to teams which may offer him more in Europe.
The arrival of Dutch coach Louis Van Gaal has reignited the rumors of Sneijder moving to Manchester United, for he was again an integral part of the Dutch World Cup 2014 team under Van Gaal in Brazil. The manager understands the player and knows his abilities and it might intrigue him to bring the star to Old Trafford.
The only concern for Van Gaal would be the age, with Sneijder now 30 years old. His form in the World Cup 2014 and his work rate was proof enough that he still has the style and flair in him but the big question remains; will he be able to adapt to the fast pace of the Premier League?
If Van Gaal thinks that he may, then we may finally have Wesley Sneijder moving to Manchester United. Better late than never.
