Uruguay vs. Portugal
Final Score 2-1
The first half saw both sides have a very strong start with a number of chances including a near goal by Ronaldo for Portugal and in the 7th minute a fantastic header by Cavani to give Uruguay the lead. Both teams continued strong with a Suarez free kick being saved which nearly gave Uruguay a larger lead and later a free-kick hitting the wall by Ronaldo.
The second half continued much like the first with both teams having a lot of chances and Portugal having the majority of shots & possession. A corner brought Portugal back level through a fantastic header by Pepe in the 55th minute. This was however followed by Cavani scoring yet again through finding a lot of space behind the Portuguese defenders and comfortably curving a shot around the keeper in the 62nd minute. It was a fantastic goal which the goalkeeper had no chance against however the defenders really let themselves down with the marking. Portugal continued to pile on the pressure with an array of excellent goal scoring opportunities including Bernardo Silva missing an open goal after the keeper had made an error. Uruguay almost made it 3-1 following more defensive blunders giving Rodriquez an excellent goal scoring opportunity which he couldn’t get on the end off.
