UEFA Champions League: Top 4 Players of the Group Stage

Last night brought an end to UEFA Champions League Group Stages. With 6 matches done and dusted, a total of 16 teams have qualified for the knockout stages. It was business as usual for big clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Chelsea who booked their place in the next round without any kind of trouble. On one end when Manchester City left it very late to book their place in Pre Quarters, there was hear break for Liverpool and AS Roma who got knocked out from the competition.

Here are top 4 Players in this year’s UEFA Champions League first round.

1- Lionel Messi:

Well who else. Once again Lionel Messi showcase his glorious talent to the world in Europe’s finest competition. It was another record breaking spell for Messi after the Argentine broke Raul’s record of most goals in this competition. With 8 goals and 2 assists to his name, Lionel Messi tops the list.

2- Luiz Adriano:

Maybe Shakhtar have qualified for the next round in the hard way, but their star striker was in imperious form throughout those matches. Adriano continued to lay havoc on opposing defenders and his 5 goal performance against Bate is certainly the pick of this year’s competition. With 9 goals to his name, Luiz Adriano comes 2nd on our list.

3- Cristiano Ronaldo:

Real Madrid are the only team this year who have won all 6 of their matches in the Group Stage. And Cristiano Ronaldo was a key catalyst for the Spanish Giants. May be he’s not performing as well as he did in La Liga, but 5 goals are enough for the Portuguese superstar to come 3rd on the list.
