UEFA Champions League Team of the Year 2014!

It’s been an enthralling year in Europe’s most glamorous tournament. When top teams collides against each other, it normally produces hearth robing events for the fans around the world. In last season, when Real Madrid came against arch rivals Atletico Madrid in the final, the Los Blancos were just moments away from a dismal defeat when a Sergio Ramos header put them back into the game. After that goal, Ronaldo and co never looked back. Carlo Ancelloti’s men were the most in form team around Europe throughout 2014. But then there were many others who were in brilliant form throughout the year. So just before the start of 2015, lets’ look at the UEFA Champions League Team of the Year in 2014.

Its’ mainly a 4-4-2 formation for our team of the Year.

GK: Manuel Neuer:
This German Maestro was in sumptuous form in every tournament he played in 2014. Undoubtedly the world’s best goalie at the moment, Manuel Neuer of Bayern Munich is the first addition to our team of the year.

LB: David Alaba:
Another Player from German Giants F Bayern Munich who has performed exceptionally well this year is Alaba. The Australian has been a hard worker in a star studded team and eventually got recognition for his performances. Apart from his defensive contributions, Alaba is equally dangerous in going forward and creating chances for his team mates. As a result, he is the left back of our team of the year.

CB: Sergio Ramos:
Real Madrid have a really glorious 2014 in their ranks. After winning the title last year, Carlo Ancelloti’s side are the only team to win all 6 matches this season. After scoring 16 goals in those 6 outings, the Los Blancos just conceded 2 this season. And one big reason for such a mind blowing stat is their star defender Sergio Ramos. He has been in top form this season and scoring important goals as well for his side. So there is no surprise when he makes to our team of the year.

CB: Jerome Boateng:
The former Manchester City Player is a huge figure in Pep Guardiola’s side as far as his defensive areas are concerned. The German Giants have the best defensive record in Europe’s top 5 Leagues this season and Boateng is making it look too easy for Bayern Munich. As a result, he is another addition to our team of the year.

RB: Phillip Lahm:
Probably the best right back in the world right now, Lahm has been performing well on consistent basis throughout the year. His vigorous defensive approach and link up play with his midfielders makes him a giant in Bayern Munich’s defense.

CM: Toni Kroos:
After playing an integral part in Bayern Munich’s success last season, this German Player has been in top form ever since joining Real Madrid in the summer. Toni Kroos has been one of the best midfielders in Europe at the moment and that’s why he makes it to our team of the year.

CM: Koke:
Koke has been a revelation for Atletico Madrid in recent years. This Young Spanish Midfielder was in superb form throughout 2014 and played a key part in their runners-up campaign in 2013-14 season. Currently topping the assists charts in 2014-15 UEFA Champions league, Koke is another addition to our team of the Year.

RW: Arjen Robben:
This Dutch Superstar has been performing so well throughout this year. Arjen Robben, with his tricky moves and dancing feats makes his so difficult to stop for opposing defenders. As a result, he makes it our team of the year.

LW: Arda Turan:
The Turkish International might be getting of age, but that doesn’t stop him to showcase his glorious talent to the world. After his heroics with the Spanish Champions last year, his exceptional performances this season takes Arda Turan to our team of the year.

CF: Cristiano Ronaldo:
Who else than this Portuguese Wizard can claim this spot. After scoring a historic 17 goals in last campaign, Ronaldo has once again in really good form this season. The Defending Ballon d’Or winner is the finest player in 2014 and a valuable addition to our team of the year.

CF: Lionel Messi:
It seems that Messi and Ronaldo rivalry is part and parcel of each other. This little magician has been in immaculate form throughout 2014 and is the Center Forward of our team of the year.
