Today saw a hotly anticipated match between Real Madrid & Bayern Munich who faces each other in the second round of the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League with the winner facing the winner of Roma vs. Liverpool which is due to take place tomorrow. In round 1 Real Madrid were away and came out the victors in a tight clash which ended 2-1 in favour of them.
Both teams however have everything to play for as it could easily go either way due to how closely matched the teams are in terms of player calibre.

Bayern Munich had a strong start which resulted in an early goal just 3 minutes into the game by Joshua Kimmich, despite the strong start Madrid fired back twice in the 11th and 46th minute with some excellent strikes by Benzema with the first resulting from an excellent cross by Marcelo & the second was due to a mistake by Bayern keeper Sven Ulreich.
Bayern continued their aggressive play which resulted in a second goal in the 63th minute by Rodríguez but Bayern were unable to score an additional time to win the game partially due to Madrid’s excellent defensive game and partially due to their inability to get shots to hit the target.
In total Bayern had 60% of the possession along with 22 shots with 10 being on target compared to Real Madrid who had 9 shots of which 3 were on target.
The final game of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals will take place tomorrow. It will feature Roma playing at home vs. Liverpool with Liverpool currently having a large advantage of 5-2 coming into the match. Roma’s chances shouldn’t be discounted however as they already had a huge comeback vs. Barcelona in the quarter finals.
